Australian Base Camp

Australian Camp is located at an altitude of 2060 meters above the sea level overlooking the mighty Annapurna massifs. Australian Camp trek Nepal offers a truly unique and rewarding experience, showcasing the stunning beauty of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri Himalayas.

This is one of the most rewarding same-day hikes near Pokhara, combining easy to moderate trails, breathtaking Himalayan views, and traditional village life. The hike starts from Kande (1,770 m), gradually ascending to Australian Camp (2,060 m). This point offers 360° panoramic views of snow-capped peaks including Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machapuchare (6,993 m), and Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) in the distance.

From Australian Camp, the trail gently descends to Dhampus Village (1,650 m), a charming Gurung settlement rich in local culture. The route is shaded with oak and rhododendron forests, and in spring, vibrant flowers bloom across the hills.

Descending to Phedi (1,130 m) marks the end of the hike, where a private vehicle takes you back to Pokhara. This circuit offers a compact blend of natural beauty, mountain landscapes, and cultural experience, ideal for those short on time but looking for an authentic Himalayan hiking experience.
